Resource issue in Blend 3 Preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm noticing resource issues in the Blend 3 Preview which I'm not seeing in Blend 2 nor VS2008.

    If I add a component such as the WPF Property Grid (www.mindscape.co.nz), and apply a pre-defined style as follows:

    and set the grid as follows:

    <ms:PropertyGrid Style='{StaticResource {x:Static ms:Alloy.StyleKey}}'/>

    then I get the following error in Blend 3 Preview:

    The resource "{x:Static ms:Alloy.StyleKey}" could not be resolved.

    This works just fine in VS2008 and Blend 2. Both are able to show the Styled Grid in the designer and compile fine, but Blend3 has this problem.  I have asked Ivan at Mindscape and his response was:

    "I guess either Blend is having difficulties resolving ComponentResourceKeys (as opposed to string keys), or it is having difficulties with merged dictionaries.  Or a combination of the two...."

    Any idea as to why this could be happening and how it could be resolved?

  • Thanks Leon! I think I can reproduce this and will file a bug.
