Converting Excel xlsx file to mapped XML with list if lists.

    Question

  • I have recently come across your website and wonder if you can help me.

I have an xlsx file created in Microsoft Excel 2010 containing 2194 rows of information.

It is a list of cafes and shows their location, name, address, phone number, email address and other information.

I want to use the file in an app which will enable users to view cafes at their current location.

The app requires the information in xml format. I have exported an example of the xml data that would be held in the app, opened it using Excel and generated the xlsx spreadsheet to look the same.

I have an xml map in xsd format.

The problem I have is that when trying to export the mapped xlsx file in Excel I receive the errors:

poiSet_map is not exportable because it contains the following:

    A list of lists

A mapped element's relationship with other elements cannot be preserved

In simple terms is there a way around this problem? I'm not a developer or XML expert but am trying to make my data work with an app I have been given access to.

    Thanks

    Mark
