PeerASN validated but not push RRS feed

  • Question

  • I try to create my peerASN on Peering Azure portal. The validation is good, the ASN is well defined on Peering DB. As soon as I ask to push to Microsoft, it's not working.

    Error message
    ===

    The resource type could not be found in the namespace 'Microsoft.Peering' for api version '2019-09-01-preview

    ===

    What is the solution?

  • Hi,

    Can you try registering the Provider and try again?

    Register-AzProviderFeature-FeatureName AllowPeeringService ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    Register-AzResourceProvider -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/peering-service/azure-portal

  • I cannot create one, there is nothing on Peering service location.

    In fact I have already some BGP sessions in Europe, I want to set up some in North America... and your portal is not working.

    Please help me to find a solution.

    Regards

  • The ultimate goal is to use : https://portal.azure.com/?quickstart=true#create/Microsoft.Peering

    As this form as for a peerASN, I try to create a peerASN...

    Now you asking me to do peering.service instead of microsoft.peering.

  • Hi,

    I am asking you to register Microsoft>peering Resource Provider. Only then you will be able to make calls to create peering.

    Msrini

  • I did the registration... 2times

    PS Azure:\> Register-AzResourceProvider -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    ProviderNamespace : Microsoft.Peering
    RegistrationState : Registered
    ResourceTypes     : {operations}
    Locations         : {}

    PS Azure:\> Register-AzResourceProvider -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    ProviderNamespace : Microsoft.Peering
    RegistrationState : Registered
    ResourceTypes     : {operations, peeringServices, peeringServiceLocations, peeringServiceProviders…}
    Locations         : {Japan East, Japan West, Korea Central, East Asia…}

    I tried to do create a PeerASN after it, still get the same errors.

  • Hi,

    I see that the register provider operation is failed. Even though you execute the command,

    Register-AzResourceProvider -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    The register provider operation failed. I would take a look into that activity to check for any possible errors or exceptions.

    Regards,

    Msrini

  • Can you please try the below commands?

    Register-AzProviderFeature -FeatureName AllowPeeringService -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    Register-AzResourceProvider -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering

    Also once you entered the above commands, try to get the feature and check if it is registered.

    Get-AzProviderFeature -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering
    You should get an output stating AllowPeeringService is registered.

    There is a doc issue where there was a typo in the first command. Can you try again with the above commands and try after some time.

  • Hello,

    I applied the command, looks fine but I'm not able to create the peerASN

    ```
    PS Azure:\> Register-AzProviderFeature -FeatureName AllowPeeringService -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering
    FeatureName         ProviderName      RegistrationState
    -----------         ------------      -----------------
    AllowPeeringService Microsoft.Peering Registered
    PS Azure:\> Register-AzResourceProvider -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering
    ProviderNamespace : Microsoft.Peering
    RegistrationState : Registered
    ResourceTypes     : {operations, peeringServices, peeringServiceLocations, peeringServiceProviders…}
    Locations         : {Japan East, Japan West, Korea Central, East Asia…}
    PS Azure:\> Get-AzProviderFeature -ProviderNamespace Microsoft.Peering
    FeatureName         ProviderName      RegistrationState
    -----------         ------------      -----------------
    AllowPeeringService Microsoft.Peering Registered
    ```

    Without peerASN, I'm not able to do peering... Why it is so complicated to do it?

    I cannot create the peerASN. I'm not the only one with this issue, can we find a way to pass over this problem?
