Socket Exceptions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm running a VB 2008 express app that uses sockets on a Windows 2003 Server. The app is designed to use 2 sockets that "listen". If only one socket is open, the app runs fine. If both sockets are used, the app runs fine for a while, and then apparently one of the sockets crashes. This is whats recorded in the Event Log:

    Event Type: clr20r3  P1: imgsrv.exe  P2: P3: 491b5fa5
    P4: system  P5: P6: 471ebf0d  P7: 2c04  P8: 40
    P9 : system.net.sockets.socket

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

  • Your app died on an unhandled exception.  The watson crash log you got doesn't contain enough relevant info to diagnose the reason for the exception.  You'll need to run it with a debugger.  Logging the exception in an AppDomain.UnhandledException event handler is typically useful too.
