How to create "State machine work flow library" project in VS 2010? RRS feed

  • Not for Sharepoint. Didn't find the corresponding item in "New Project" wizard.

  • Hi, if you are using VS2010, there's no State Machine by default. But we have a Code Plex release for State Machine, you can download it from

    http://wf.codeplex.com/releases/view/43586

    Once you install it, you can create a normal Workflow Console Application Project, then you can find State Machine tab in the Toolbox. Just drop and drop a State Machine activity designer as the root, you will have a state machine workflow.

  • for workflow designer 4.0, there is no statemachine designer.

    but it will come with vs2010 sp1

  • Do you mean WF v1 "State machine Workflow Library"?  If so, in "New Project" wizard, choose ".Net Framework 3.5", you will find it under "Workflow" Tab.

  • We just used the Flowchart to implement a state machine.

    We stayed away from the CodePlex implementation, as we wanted stability for production code.
