Failed Win 2000 BDC prevents win 2003 from raising the domain functionality level RRS feed

  • Question

  • While upgrading from Win 2000 server to Win 2003 the PDC migration went fine. In the final step of rasing the domain funtinality on the new 2003 R2/SP2 server AD reminded me of the older Win 2000 BDC I use to have online and will not allow raising the domain functionality level. The BDC is no longer avaiable so I cannot simply demote it.

Is there some way to delete the BDC from AD so I can raise the level?

Or is there another way around this?

  • HI,

You could go to the active directory users and computers console ---> and then delete it from the computers OU .

Please let me know if this helps
