Not able to send large objects from my Silverlight application to WCF RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to implement a document upload feature in my Silverlight application. I already have –

    • A Silverlight 4.0 application with a user control for allowing user to select a document
    • A WCF service that talk to the DB
    • A ChannelFactory object which is used for communication between Silverlight and WCF

I am creating the channel programmatically, when the application starts. I am using an object of class BasicHttpBinding and an Object of class EndpointAddress for creating the channel factory object. The setup works for all other communications, but fails when I am trying to upload large sized documents (or for that matter, when the object size crosses a certain limit). This limit is very low, somewhere in KBs.

I tried setting the ReadersQuota property of the BasicHttpBinding object but since this is happening in a Silverlight project (which only supports features till .Net framework 2.0), I am not able to set this property. Apparently, it is only available in .Net Framework 4.0.

Could you please suggest a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance
