who can help me and give me some useful advices? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have some problems.

I updated my computer from windows XP to windows 7. Absolutely, the interface is really excellent! But something goes to worse. I found my computer went more and more slowly. I think my computer got a torjan unconciously. Frankly, I am a computer rookie, after I install the new operating system with my friend's help, I have't install a antivirus. Now, I just want to find a effective software to solve all my computer problems.

    Thank you!

  • Microsoft offers several free security tools to get you started:

Windows Firewall:   host firewall that comes with Windows 7. (firewall.cpl / WF.msc)

    Windows Defender: anti-spyware / anti-malware that comes with Windows 7. (MSASCui.exe)

    Security Essentials: this is a free anti-virus / anti-malware / anti-spyware utility.  You can download from http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/?mkt=en-us

    Hope this helps

  • Thanks for your advice. But when I click  http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/?mkt=en-us and get into the page, I click the download button. After that, it pop up a windows to ask me to choose the  operating system. But after I choose my operating system, there is no response. I can't download the software. Some friends recommended me to have a try on PowerSuite or AVIRA AntiVir, but I have no idea of both of them. Could you please give me some advices?

  • If you think those softwares mentioned above are not good with you, I guess I can introduce some useful softwares to you.

    1 PowerSuite 2010       http://www.spotmau.com/products/package/full.htm

    2 Windows 7 Master     http://www.duote.com/soft/11038.html

    3 tweak 7                   http://download.pchome.net/system/treak/detail-104712.html

    4 tuneup                    http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

the former three softwares aim at Windows 7 operating system, the last one is compatible with Windows 7. You can choose what you want and have a try.

  • In fact, there are not lots of antivirus softwares for us to choose, but I think it is enough. As mentioned above, I think PowerSuite is most effective and have more functions than the latter ones like antivirus, backup data, disk cleanup but it costs a fee. Windows 7 Master, tweak 7 and tuneup are free, but they just have avtivirus function. You can think it over and choose what you really want.
