    We have several custom functions that we have placed in both the SSDL and CSDL sections of the EDMX file.

    Our custom functions are getting all mashed up into the XML and keep getting moved around.

    We would like to move the custom functions into a separate file or files.

    Custom function are needed to be placed in the Schema element, we cannot declare them outside Schema section.
