Problem Logining into Visual Studio Community 2015

    Question

  • It is very sad that for the past two days I have been finding it very difficult to login into Visual Studio Community 2015. It keeps saying "Sorry, we ran into problem" and "Could not complete operation". Sometimes the old internet explorer would popup saying:

    This page can’t be displayed

    • Make sure the web address https://login.microsoftonline.com is correct.
    • Look for the page with your search engine.
    • Refresh the page in a few minutes.

I don't know what else to do. I have a very strong internet connection. Right now, my Visual Studio Community 2015 30 day trial license is about to expire. Please what do I do?

    Someone please help!

  • Hi Emperorfin,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

For your issue, we need to use the IE 11, if your IE version is less than 11, I suggest you upgrade your IE to IE 11.

After upgrading, if you still could not sign in, please check the following:

    1. Check the connection of your network. And then open the Internet Explorer, open one website, if it could be opened successfully, indicating your network is well.

    2. Maybe your IE doesn’t trust the Visual Studio web page or the sign in page, try to add the   https://login.microsoftonline.com/  and https://login.live.com/ to your trusted zone.

In the IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security Tab, click the “Sites”, and adds these sites.

    3. If the above doesn’t help, try to enable the JavaScript in Internet Explorer because if the JavaScript is disabled, you will not able to sign in to Visual Studio.

Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security Tab, and then click the Internet zone, depending on whether you have to customize your Internet security settings, select one of the following options:
•If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level.
•If you have to customize your Internet security settings, click Custom level, scroll down to the Active scripting section, and then click Enable.

    Best Regards,

    Jiayi

  • Hi Emperorfin,

To make sure whether it is related to your account, please try to login into the https://login.microsoftonline.com/  and https://login.live.com/ with your account in IE directly.

If you couldn't sign in, I suggest you could create a new account to have a try.

    Best Regards,
