Video Issue on Win 7 Laptop

    Question

  • Installed the Win 8 Dev Preview on my Samsung RV511 laptop (installed to empty partition on new HD). Video refuses to go above 1024x768 and Device Manager says there's an issue with the drivers. When I attempt to update the drivers, I see this message:

"Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device.  To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)"

The laptop came with Win 7. Downloading Win 7 display drivers from Samsung does not help. No BIOS updates available.

I may be SOL, but this seems odd to me. Anybody else seen or solved this kind of thing?

  • If i remember correctly, there where a few more threads on here about non-functioning drivers. I guess the best thing to (maybe even only thing) you can do is wait for a driver update.

  • I see from other more recent posts here that I'm not alone.

You're right about waiting for a new driver, Dylan. Thanks :-)
