Cannot create Table in Azure Resource Management

    Question

  • Hi,

How can I create a new Azure RM table inside Azure storage account? in the classic mode I can perform that using PowerShell cmdlet (New-AzureStorageTable) but I can't find similar cmdlet for the Azure RM mode, also how can I create table using JSON as well?

    Thanks,

    A Seyam

  • Hi A Seyam,

Please be advised that only the "management plane" Azure Storage PowerShell cmdlets would be impacted by the ARM version of the cmdlets, like trying to create a storage account.
Anything having to do with "the data plane" -- that's the actual data stored in the storage account like blobs and containers and queues and tables and files -- has not changed, so the original cmdlets work just fine, regardless of whether the storage account is classic or ARM.

So the New-AzureStorageTable cmdlet should work just fine in ARM mode as well.

    Regards,
    Malar.

  • Ok, I found that I have to call the new cmdlet Get-AzureRMStorageAccount then pipeline the output to the old cmdlet New-AzureStorageTable.

now I need to know if there is any reference to create tables using JSON?
