Dash "-" in jsonp RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a request which returns error code (400):

    virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Imagery/Metadata/CanvasGray?culture=fr-FR&include=ImageryProviders&jsonp=_bing_metadata_CanvasGray_fr- FR_http&key=XXXX&output=json&uriScheme=https

But when I replace then jsonp parameter with  jsonp=_bing_metadata_CanvasGray_fr_FR_http (i.e. I replaced the dash "-" with an underscrore "_") the request is now successfull.

    So my question is:

    - are dashes ("-") forbidden in jsonp parameters ?

    - if YES since when ?

    Best regards,

  • Yes, since always. The jsonp value is a the JavaScript function name you want to have called when your request is processed. JavaScript requires function names can contain letters, numbers, underscores, and dollar signs.
