This is on Windows 2000 Std. w/ IIS 5.0 User can create a new folder in his FTP site, place files in that folder and delete files from that folder but cannot move files from the folder to its subfolder. What could be causing this problem?

I'm using IE6. I'm moving files by dragging them into the subfolder... I'm not at the office but I'll check ftp log files tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Hhmm.. does IE support this ? I can drag any of my local file to the ftp folder. but not from one ftp to another folder. if you are dragging a file within the ftp site to a folder, you should see the mouse icon change to no entry sign, right ? hence I don't think it is supported.

Really? That's exactly what I'm getting. I'm a really embarrassed and reluctant to ask you this question but how do I move files from one folder to another on the remote server?

This is client side app issue, IE doesn't support this, but I'm sure there are others ftp client app will do it. Try google for some 3rd party tools like cuteftp, wsftp pro and etc

Might be kinda obvious but if the files are small, download it to a temp folder, open sub-folder, upload from temp.

That's one way too. Pre-organize the upload content
