    Hi,

you can buy several books/ebooks from different vedors like wrox, apress, packt, ...

If you want to obtain it in an illegal fashion then don't post on these forums as that's not allowed.

Why buy an eBook, if you can find everything to start learning ASP.NET on thise site?

Because when I'm at work too much browsing the net and I might get caught. However, if I've got an ebook on my machine, I can be augmenting my ASP.NET repertoire without the boss, or anyone, knowing.

So they won't say anything when you read something on your pc but will do so when they see you browsing elearning material? Strange. If you can explain that the site's about ASP.NET learning instead of some social media site then your boss can't complain. Also you might ask him to buy a decent book for you if he wants you to study in his hours.

Company internet is monitored from an office far away in the rocky mountains (joke). If someone browses a lot if internet, they may not have a job for very long. However, an eBook leaves no trace of web browsing.

I purchase all my own books and do not condone or engage in illegal activities.

If I explain that I do not yet work in ASP.NET or even software development, it may not seem so strange.

    Cheers for the comments though.

If your employer wants you to learn something during workinghours, why don't they supply you with all you need to learn it?

Anyway, all tutorials can be downloaded as PDF, all video's can be downloaded in 6 different formats, so plenty of ways to go through it offline!

You can buy the Wrox ebook Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 from Wrox and use the discount code NODRM through April 30, 2010 to get a 20% discount.

    Hi Jimmy,

I like your choice in books; that is the one I read to get me started on ASP.NET quite a while ago.

What I'm looking for is something at a high level that I can peruse when work in the office is quite low. I don't have any IDE's at my current desk, so low-level coding examples don't really help me.

    Thanks though Cool
