Bing Maps and snapping causes Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,
    it appears that if you have a Bing Map with child layers in a grid with columns, and when you 'snap', that grid then that column becomes hidden, then your program aborts with {"Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component."} System.Exception System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException}

    If you clear the map layers of children before snapping, all is fine, and if the map still remains visible in a visible grid, all is OK.

    Looks like the current solution may be to clear the child layers, and then re-add later, or ensure the map stays in a visible column.

    Anyone else seen this?

    NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
