  • In the spirit of April Fool’s Day, David Platt decides to ask Cortana, Siri, Alexa and OK Google to tell him a joke. The resulting groaners prodded him to look more deeply into the uneasy relationship between computers and humor.

  • Maybe we can redefine the question to something more "executable" and see how it works?

    Say, since my definition of "joke" is "something I can relate to in my memory but in awkward form, it's the mind provoking property that make us feel it is interesting, and the idea that we share the same idea without needing to explicitly tell it that give us joy", but I can't tell computer what awkwardness is, and similarly for the next two parts of definition. Maybe I can try, "Tell me something I may know that has no similar search result"?
