HCK for USB CDC EEM driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I need to sign the EEM driver designated specifically for our device. The driver allows Ethernet-over-USB connection.

I have read LAN Testing Prerequisites website ( but I cannot still figure out how to setup the correct topology. The device used for testing has one USB and one Ethernet interface.

My initial thought was as shown here:

The DUT is placed in Back-to-back connection and is responsible for forwarding all the traffic that goes between Test Machine and Support Machine. The ping between the machine works fine.

Unfortunately I'm getting following errors during [NDISTest] CheckConnectivity test:

Test: Send/Receive 250 packets from Realtek PCIe GBE Family
Controller #2 to USB CDC EEM Ethernet Adapter.
    Error Type: WIN32
    Eror Code: 0x50013
Error Text: The media is write protected.
Can anyone suggest what the error actually means and how this should be done?

  • Hello mchmielek,

I think your Setup is fine and refer the Troubleshooting LAN Testing below:

Try with static IP for all machines that are connected to the Backchannel switch.

  • HI
I have still doubt in topology setup.

My device is Mobile broadband usb interface with NCM . In back-to-back connection , how to connect supportdevice with my test usb device connected in client system because other end wireless.

In my understanding I connected supportdevice with client ethernetdevice direct Ethernet cable without connecting My test device. Test device separately connected with Client device.

    Which one is correct?
simply where to connet my test device ?
