WCF 4.5 - Replace SVC page content with custom HTML page for browser RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I've a WCF 4.5 service with metadata disabled.

    <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="false" httpsGetEnabled="false" />

    Now if I browse service URL:https://localhost/Service.svc

    It shows me a page with below content:

    This is a Windows© Communication Foundation service.

    Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled.

    I would like to replace it with custom page (or no page). So there is a proposed solution which apparently doesn't work: Adding below to web.config

    <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="false" httpsHelpPageEnabled="true" httpHelpPageEnabled="true" httpHelpPageUrl="/service.html" httpsHelpPageUrl="/service.html" />

    I understand this topic has been discussed here. That code sample doesn't compile for me. Also, wondering if this issue has been fixed in WCF 4.5.

    Thank you,

    Manish
