Access denied to my encrypted file RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi I really need your help. I am using Windows 7 Ent with latest patch in domain. I encrypted a folder with default config through file properites. Then months later I formated OS and install Win7 Ent and enrolled same EFS key. I am admin of my PC, and I compared recovery key of the file and my enrolled key, they are same, but when I want to open or decrypt my files, it always pops up "access denied". I have full control of these encryped files and folder, i also rebooted my machine, tried "cipher /d *.*) command too. I also could encrypt a new file, decrypt it. so strange. Need your help.

    thank you.

  • Problem fixed by asking help from IT department who owns the key.
