About Windows Task Schedule File *.job, What's is the structure of ".job" files? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Indeed, I just want to add a "Windows Task Schedule" by creating a ".job" file in the "C:\windows\tasks\" directory.

It's neither easy for me to "run Command in the server" nor "operate the server manually in console".

    And also no remote desktop.

I JUST want to prove whether it is possible to add a Windows Task by creating a .job file?

    Appreciate your reply.

  • Hi,

not exactly sure why you are trying to accomplish this but:

a .job file is a binary file. You can programmaticly create a windows task schedule by using the ITaskScheduler com interface.

Googled it and found this link: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/tsnewlib.aspx

I think that will get you started for sure. Once you have this working you will have to figure out how you are going to create new tasks. You will need Visual Studio for this!
