    Supplementing Josephs's answer...

    You must have Office 2007 or 2010 installed in order to create VSTO solutions with VS 2010. If Office isn't installed when you install VS 2010, then VSTO won't install. You'll need to run a "Change" from the Windows Control Panel in order to install it after-the-fact.

  • Just in case you are new to The Internet, welcome, and would you mind terribly typing in lowercase otherwise it seems like you're shouting.

    I suggest you follow links from here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/hh128771.aspx

    You need to have Excel installed, and have selected Microsoft Office Developer Tools when installing Visual Studio.

  • Hi lanka1,

    Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

    In my opinion, I agree what Cindy said. I would recommend you take a look this thread, I think it will help you understand what Cindy’s mean. Please look this thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsto/thread/1666d2b0-a4d0-41e8-ad86-5eab3542de1e. As we know, the Visual Studio 2010 supports VSTO 4.0. So the environment of your to develop VSTO add-in must match this requisition of the VSTO 4.0.

    @Cindy,

    Thanks for you great work.

    Have a good day,

    Tom
