Sandbox solution postback event executed twice in SharePoint 2013 O365 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a webpart in a sandboxed solution for my site collection in O365 SharePoint 2013. Click button raises a postback event that query all list items and save them into another list. There are 200 items no more but it could be a long operation.

Well, in development environment with 20 items it goes ok but in O365 postback button event raises twice and many times it finish with an error. I think that is a timeout error. I don't click button twice, I'm sure.

    Any idea?

    Thanks.

  • How do you know it fires twice in O365? Does it only fire once in your dev environment?

  • Yes in my dev environment only fires once. In O365 it fires twice because it creates items twice and then i created a custom list for register log messages. Using this log list I can see that the event handler is executed twice.

  • I think it could be a timeout error. First timeout retries the same http request and then executes event handler twice.

The problem is that I executes many list operations in this event handler perhaps I must use another development scenario for this case in SharePoint Office 365? Any idea?
