Site column not showing on my site? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I created a series of custom site columns, for a custom page layout i created.

    And out of the 4 site columns i crated only one has a problem, and its very strange. When i edit my ASPX layout page in SPD 2010 i can add my site column, and it looks fine in the preview. - But when i save, and check in my ASPX layout, and then try to create a page using this layout, the one "choice" site column is not showing. Its only a problem with my "choice" element, witch is called "kategori" (Danish for category).

    I have 3 other site columns, created in the exact same way, but these are a single check box, and single lines of text. - It seems that i only have a problem with the "choice" site column.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    /Mick

  • Could you post the markup that adds the field to your page layout?

    Also, has the content type that contains the choice column been updated in any way? (i.e. was the choice column added to an existing custom content type recently)

  • Hi Jamie,

    Thank you for your reply.

    The markup in the ASPX looks like this:

    <SharePointWebControls:CheckBoxChoiceField FieldName="055eebd5-ca17-43c5-bbd9-6d28091304b3" runat="server">
    					</SharePointWebControls:CheckBoxChoiceField>

    I put it in a div right next to another site column, that actually works. And if i remove the above, and just put a random check box or something like that, the element shows.

    - The only thing i updated recently in my content type is adding the "Kategori" site column. - If that is what you meant?

    Sorry for my lack of knowledge, i have not have much experience with Sharepoint.

  • So the column that isn't showing up was recently added? That's likely to be the problem.

    Check out the solution in this thread;
