Users with contributor rights do not really have the rights RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

We have certain users with CONTRIBUTOR rights to an SP 2003 site. The users, however, are not able to:

    1. Add/Edit/Delete/View items in a list

    2. Manage personal views

    3. Add/Remove private webparts

    4. Update personal webparts

    5. Create cross-site groups.

They are able to only browse directories and view pages in the site. I checked the permissions on teh contributor group, and I see that the group has all the above permissions.

Then why is it that the users are not able to perform these actions?

    Any clue?

  • Are these users added to any other group in root level site ?

Please check they are added somewhere on the root level site with Limited access permissions.
