Error : Unable to start program http://localhost/default.aspx

Hi All,

I have a Visual studio 2013 and IE11 . I am getting an error Unable to start program http://localhost/default.aspx when I am trying to debug the application(press F5).This error is happening only when I debug with IE 11 . All other browsers the site is working fine and launching a site. Please let me know how to resolve this issue?.

Unable to start program http://localhost/default.aspx

For this issue , I suggest you try the following solution.

Turn off JavaScript debugging on IE, go to Tools > Options > debugging > General and turn off the setting for Enable JavaScript debugging for asp.net (chrome and IE)

Hi Yongqing,

I am using VS 2013 and not VS 2017. I am not able to see the options in VS 2013 which one u have suggested.

In My Visual studio 2013 , it was forking for IE11 also, suddenly not working with IE11 when press F5.

Hi dileep,

Here is a link similar to your issue,  there are some discussions about IE browser not suitable for local host.
