How to make a UWP app automatically update users' Win 8.x version of the app on Windows 10

    Question

  • I'm in the final stages of porting my Win 8.x app to the UWP. My Windows 8.x app in the Windows store goes by the name, DC Envelope Printer. I have named my UWP port of the app, DC Envelope Printer X. Is there a way to upload my UWP port so that it will automatically update my Windows 8.x version of the app on Windows 10 computers? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Answers

  • You need to upload the UWP package of your app to the same app submission in the Windows Store, so Windows 8 users still get the Win8 version of your app and Windows 10 users get the updated version (UWP)
