What constitue as geocodes mentioned in the term of use. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to store the static image of a map location, but I am not sure if I can do that. So I dug deeper into the term of use and see that there is clearly a restriction of what I can store. The problem that I have is that in section 3.2 b of the term of use,,  it mention that we can store the geo-codes.

    So 2 questions.

    1. Can I store a map image?

    2. Are the geo-code data mention just the normal address information plus latitude and longitude?

  • You can't store the map images. Geocodes refer to the process of geocoding an address (i.e. REST Location API). The only reason why this is allowed to store offline is that it is common to geocode a database worth of data and store the coordinates with your data for faster spatial querying. You can store all the geocoding response data.
