  • Hi, yes we recently upgraded the API Access blade in the portal to make it easier to get the keys and AAD app information for both the v3 and v2 API.

If you are using the V2 API, make sure to click on the  "V2 (Legacy)" radio button next to the "Media Services API version" on the portal page.

Copy the AAD Client Secret value - or click on the JSON or XML tab to copy the settings needed for your application.
If you do not see values in there, you need to pick or create a new Service Principal in the middle section of that same page where it says "Manage your AAD app and secret".

Let us know if you have any issues there - and we are working on updating the docs pages images to match the new experience which was just released last week.

Also, please upgrade to the v3 API, and plan to migrate your application off of v2 very soon! We are no longer building new features for the v2 Legacy API.

  • Does v3 support encoding on onpremises server rather than in Azure? & Use Azure to just deliver licenses?

  • Azure Media Services does not ship any on-premises encoders.  For on-premises encoders, there are lot of commercial ones on the market that you could look at, including just FFMPEG.

  • Cannot find - "V2 (Legacy)" radio button next to the "Media Services API version" on the portal page.

    However created new key in

"Client secrets" in "Certificates & secrets" menu
