  • The timesheet manager is the person who approves the resource's timesheet. The Status manager is the person who approves the task status in the Project plan. The status manager is typically the project manager or project owner, however the system supports multiple status managers on a single project.

  • Hi Ankit,

Project Server has feature of  tracking progress for the projects & tracking billable and nonbillable hours. Based on organization needs, We can have one or both options enabled in system.
Status Manager is responsible to approve/reject task updates from Team members & Timesheet manager is for approving  the timesheets.  Please see below article which explains in details: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project-server-help/overview-of-timesheets-and-task-status-HA010146635.aspx

Timesheet is the sanpshot of tasks taken while cretaing & doesn't update the actual hours in project plan unless you have SEM enabled. My tasks updates are applied to project progress.

If you are loooking at the PS2007, Please see Marc's blog:http://marcsoester.blogspot.in/2008/03/project-server-2007-timesheets-goods.html

    Hope that helps.
