  • It's not working for me...Always GeoPositionStatus is coming as"NoData"....and it could not able to locate me.

In the mentioned post, after the Download Code button please check the comments.

  • Hi,

Uing the"Some IP" we can get the lattitude and longitude. With this we can show the locaiton of the device.

But still this is not giving my lattitude and longitude details... if i hard code these details manually...i can see my location...My new requirement is i want to show multiple locaitons in the map...

For ex: i have adrees book and i want to seach my friends who are in 2kms radius. Result should be show in map with balloon symbols or red mark.

or is it possible to pass more than lattitude and longitude details to MapLayer so that i can see my friends location in map?

  • Hi,

Ive just produced a similar blog today, only this simulates a running/jogging workout application, which traces a users movement on the map.  I had to create a mock version of the GeoCoordinateWatcher class to inject my geo-coordinates though.

  • Hi, I have an HTC hd7 and at first the map search was working fine but when I tried searching just recently, the search opened up to Bing web search instead of address search of the map. I just don't know who to ask after searching the net for quite sometime so I just decided to try asking in this forum. Or is there another forum somewhere I can raise my issue?

  • @Jon - this is a forum for developers creating applications using the Bing Maps API (both on WP7, and on any other devices).

It sounds like you really need to contact product support for your particular device - have you tried HTC customer service, or your network provider?

  • Thankyou for the link Brian.

I have been all over the place looking for WP7 / Bing Map tutorials. There are plenty out there utilizing the emulator and mock data, but very few that I have seen using the actual device.

I have successfully implemented the Bing map into my app and the link you provided has given me the extra info I was lookin for.

    Thanks again! Greg
