Metro Apps do not work? Even at a higher resolution

    Question

  • After installing windows 8 32-bit on the laptop im currently using, I tried using the metro apps. Control Panel works fine. So does Internet Explorer. However, the rest do not work at all. The logo/tag is shown for a few moments, then the screen goes green. No freezups or anything, the application simply won't load though. The resolution I'm at is 1280 x 800 and I installed my ati radeon drivers as well.

  • Are you signed in with a Windows LIVE ID? Try using a local account instead. This seems to fix problems people have had with many metro apps not working.

  • Your screen resolution is to low. The Metro application won't start if the resolution of your screen isn't at least as high as the application is designed for.

This worked 100%, thanks so much!

@Mattson, the resolution has to be a minimum of 1024 x 768, so that would not be involved.

@John, what is LUA? You mean UAC?
