    hi,

Now I want to browse my web application via IIS at Windows Server 2003. I just used to do with Window Vista's IIS and I haven't used Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition R2's IIS. Some meun items are different. So please kindly instruct me how to do it.Frown

My Usage to Window Vista's IIS is below:

    1. I add my web application package under C:\inetpub\wwwroot.
    2. I open IIS Manager.
    3. I could find my package under Default Web Site.
    4. And then I change this package to application by right clicking and choosing 'Convert to Application'
    5. At 'Add Application' Browser, I add Alias and physical path.
    6. Finally, I could browse this application via IE or Firebox with this URL - http://localhost/Sample/
I use a virtual machine at remote server. After successfully browsing it at my Virtual Machine, could anyone browse or use this web application via any web browser (NOT FROM A VIRTUAL SERVER) by using this sample URL - http://202.150.208.117/Sample/ ?Undecided

The "Remove" button indicates that this folder is already set as an application.  If it were not already an application, the button would say "Create" and the "Configuration" button would be disabled.

It's essentially the same process.  Create a folder for you app under C:\inetpub\wwwroot and then copy your application files into that folder.  In the IIS MMC, set that folder as an application.

Setting that folder to applicaiton command is included in IIS of Windows Visita, but in Window Server 2003, this command is not. This IIS is like Figure 2 of this link - http://www.beansoftware.com/ASP.NET-Tutorials/Set-Up-IIS-ASP.NET.aspx

    Why are they different?
