Loading everything from a DLL

    Question

  • Hi people,

    I am trying to get my head around dll's and get things working, so far i have managed to get the dll to display within the main form but that's it.
    Basicly i am looking to create a dll that contains a form that holds 30 buttons (with images) and 30 textbox's. When the end user clicks i want to call and display that form with its contents.
    The form will load and display, but nothing else! Even the form BG color doesn't show.
    Once displayed i obviously want this form to sit precisely where i need it and to resize with the main form (a left hand menu form as with most programs), leaving the rest of the main form for other displays.
    I have tried anchor, dock, and 2 days of reading tutorials and examples that just say do this but not why and nothing related to what i need (mainly math dll examples).
    I have the...

    Imports basicDLL

    And this is the code on my Label_click

        Public Sub LabelBBset_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles LabelBBset.Click
            Dim basicDLL As New basicDLL()
            basicDLL.MdiParent = Me
            basicDLL.Dock = DockStyle.Left
            basicDLL.Dock = DockStyle.Bottom
            basicDLL.Anchor = AnchorStyles.Left
            basicDLL.Anchor = AnchorStyles.Bottom
            basicDLL.Show()
            PanelBsetget.Hide()
            LabelBBset.Enabled = False
            LabelB2Bset.Enabled = True
        End Sub

    Docking or anchoring does nothing

    I finally came for help because i just don't know what else to read or watch that actually helps. As i said the form will show but nothing else :-(

    I forgot to mention, i am trying to build this as a new project within the project, is that the correct procedure?

    Thanks in advance

    regards Flatland France
