Cannot install visual studio 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Visual studio core features:

      Fatal error during installation.

For some reason installing professional after the RC gave me all sorts of issues, I tried to uninstall both, and the uninstall failed for both, same with repair.  An install also fails, I tried the premium exe installer and the profession dvd iso.

These seem to be the issues in the log file.

  • Hi fizgig1,

    Thanks for your post.

The error below always means your ISO is corrupt:

    Source file not found: C:\Windows\Installer\cab1.cab

Since RC version is a beta version. Can you switch your product to RTM version so that you can use web-installer. It will help you check your download files.

  • I've struggled through a few problems, but my new problem is:

Source file not found: C:\Windows\Installer\cab1.cab.  Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I fixed some of these problems by copying the file to that folder from the iso image, but there are a bunch of cab1.cab files on the DVD.
