How can you configure Windows File Services deduplication to work with Windows Server 2012R2 VMs hosted in Azure?

    Question

  • How can you configure Windows File Services deduplication to work with Windows Server 2012R2 VMs hosted in Azure? The volume to be deduplicated is composed of page blob based disks in Azure.  When I try the obvious stuff get-dedupstatus says there are zero InPolicyFiles even after manually launching an optimization job and waiting several days.

    Thanks!

  • Hi BonnieFe,

Suggest you to refer the following link which provide information about data deduplication over Virtual machine :

Also, please refer the following Video link which helps you in setting the D-D over a VM hosted in Azure:

If this doesn't help, you could open a support case for further analysis.
