kernel debugging over a network using WinDBG failed because Packet failed authentication. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use windbg 10.0.14321.1024 that download from win10 sdk.

The IP address of my host machine is and that of my target machine is I used port 50000 and key "xxxx" that generated by bcdedit for network debugging. The target system runs 64-bit Windows 2012 R2 while the host system runs 32-bit Windows 7. The network adapter on the target system is supported for network debugging, but when I try to connect the debugger to the target system, I'm getting the following error: "Packet failed authentication. Please make sure the host and target encryption keys match exactly."

Please tell me what am I doing wrong here? Why am I not able to connect the debugger? What should I do to connect the debugger properly.
