Filtering by name of the day of a calculated column of dates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone, I've been trying to make a filter by the name of a day of a column of dates but I just can't find the way, I tried converting the column to  day format but I couldn’t find that format in PowerBI (dddd), gladly I found it in power query but I also couldn’t converted it because the column I want to change to “name of the day format” is a calculated column and it does not appears in Power query.
My question is: Is there any way to convert a calculated column of dates to  “name of the day format” in power BI?
Thanks a lot for helping, I really appreciate

  • Adding another calculated column using the FORMAT() function in DAX should work as this will create a new string column with the name of the days in it.

    eg.

    =FORMAT('date'[Date], "dddd")
