Exporting Smart Folders in Microsoft Outlook 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I create a series of smart folders based on saved search criteria, is it possible to export those folders to another users mailbox so they can use the same search criteria without having to create and save the searches manually?

  • If the folders were created programmatically, you can just re-run the same code. Otherwise you'd need to use Extended MAPI (C++ or Delphi only) or Redemption (RDOSearchFolder and RDOSearch) to access existing search criteria and apply it to another search folder.

You can see the existing search criteria in OutlookSpy - select the search folder, click IMAPIFolder button on the OutlookSpy ribbon, go to the GetSearchCriteria tab.

  • Hello,

Outlook doesn't support the feature to export Search Folder or Smart Folder. If you want to achieve the requirement, you could follow Dmitry's suggestion.

Besides, you could submit a feedback on Outlook User Voice if you want the feature could be included in the future.
