Custom Field Type in Sharepoint 2013 -MSDN Walkthrough not working

Question

Hi guys,

I'm trying to create my first Cutom Content Type in Sharepoint2013 using this article:

it's been written for 2010 version, but Sharepoint2013 documentation still has link to it.

After I deploy solution I cannot find  new custom field in a site. Does Custom Field Type creating proccess in SP2013 differ from SP2010?

Try IISReset and see.

if you have changed or updated fldtypes*.xml,then you should recycle the web app.

However I would caution not to IISReset if your SP is production environment, so plan accordingly.

I'm not sure if it's still possible to create custom field in SP2013 the way it is in SP2010. Looks like you need to use JSLink for this...

I'm not quite sure though if SP2010 field type will work (hope it'll work for backward compatibility). But you can try the new way of JSLink, if possible: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj220061(v=office.15).aspx.
