Is it possible to 'uncompile' Visual basic .exe files?

    Question

  • My computer recently got hit by a virus that erased or encrypted all my files. Fortunately I had backups for most of them so the damage was not too bad. However one set of files that I did lose was the code of a program I wrote nearly two years ago using Visual studio 2014. I have copies of the setup and application files so I can still run the program, but I would like to have a copy of the original code as I may have to modify the program in the future. Is there any way to 'uncompile' the .exe file so that I can retrive all or part of the original code?
