If you really want to learn how to code something as involved as remote control, you better start learning some Unmanaged C++, which is the language used by VNC.  Take a look at TightVNC, which is an Open-source version of VNC.  Take a look at their source code and try to make your own, you will find it will not be easy to program this by yourself.  That is why there is a team of people who made TightVNC.

I don't think there is really any examples for this kind of thing in VB.NET, there could be, but I'm not aware.  Your best bet is to learn C++, if you don't want to learn C++ or can't understand it, I would recommend just downloading and using their software, it will save you a lot of grief.
