Visual Studio Help RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am about to loose the best job I ever had (and I'm not young) because I can't produce VS2005 reports fast enough.  PLEASE HELP.  #1. I have a master report and created 2 subreports. now I just want to allow the user to click a field (ie:name) on the master and have it open the sub at that name on the report. Also, both reports have date parmaters and I need to eliminate the sub's and utilize the master's.  Finally, if anyone is out there, I really need help and quick.  If there are any good CD's or on line training for creating reports with Visual Studio - you may be saving a father who is seriously struggling....  Thanks

  • I suggest writing a smaller subreport that simply filters data for the name and date you want (from master), and pass these values in as report parameters.

Check out http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/reportviewer, which is a VS2010 solution, but you should be able to take a look at the "SupplyingData" sample, which shows you how to make such a subreport.
