Using XSD.exe does not work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I have a xsd file in my Web Application Project with VS 2005. When I hit "build" I want it to be built also. Simple enough.

I've seen advises like "Simply add "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin\xsd.exe" as Custom tool but this results in "Cannot find custom tool *** on this system". Annoying. Yes, I have copy/pasted the path from Windows Explorer.

Then I went and found the article "Registering Single File Generators" but could'nt figure out how to do it for xsd.exe.
    Shouldn't it be registered already?

Next try was modifying my project file with pre build events but I want the generated file be included in VSS and then the file is write protected. No option also.

    Sigh, can someone please help?
    Thanks in advance
