How to send encrypted message with attachments to another exchange user RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I'm working on a project where I need to email an XML attachment to another client through our corporate exchange system. Both the sender (me) and the recipient have accounts on the corporate exchange. We both also have PKI certificates issued by the company. From within Outlook 2007, when i send this person an email, outlook is configured to encrypt it automatically and before the receiver can read the message, they must have entered their PKI pin.

I need to be able to programmically create an email with attachments, encrypt it and send and I'm not sure where to begin. I able to create and send a simple text message through exchange using EWS.

For encrypting, it is possible to use EWS to get the recipients public key from exchange?

I believe I need to generate a S/MIME formatted message as that is what our corporate Outlook clients are doing when we send mail within the company.

Can someone explain the process, point me to an explaination or tutorial.

    Thanks

    Scott
