How to debug custom MFT for DRM content without microsoft signed? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to develop a custom MFT to play DRM content. But when I run the process, system tell me that the MFT.dll MUST be updated because without microsoft signed.

I only want to debug with MFT.dll. MUST I sign MFT.dll file for debuging each time?

    How to resolve this problem?

    thank you

  • This is to be expected.  When handling DRM content, every component must be explicitly authorized; unknown components cannot be allowed access to the protected content.  Generally, the process is that you test the MFT with unprotected content until you are satisfied that it works.  Then, you contact pmpcert@microsoft.com about getting licensed to run for protected content.  If everything goes well, you will get debugging credentials that will allow you to test your MFT in a protected environment.
