Running error on a exe from VS 2005 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi
I have updated our application, C++ code, from VS 2002 to VS 2005  so that one code can be compiled on VS 2002 and VS 2005. To test code I have moved exe from VS 2005 to our test server and found error with "The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". And the exe from VS 2002 has no probem.

    My computer has

Window XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
.NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3 Developer
    .NET Compact Framework 2.0
    .NET Framework(English)v1.0.3705
    .NET Framework 1.0 Hotfix
    .NET Framework 2.0

    Test Server
Window Server 20003 Standard Edition Service Pack 2
    .NET Framework(English) v1.0.3705
    .NET Framework 2.0

More information of our code is that the code on VS 2002 doesn't use Standard Library and VS 2005 uses Standard Library.

Does anyone has an idea what the problem is?

    Thanks for your input

  • VS 2002 target on .NET 1.0 while VS 2005 targets on .NET 2.0 core, which may be the factor of the problem, however, without code information, I'm not sure.

    Thanks
