SharePoint 2013 - collapse Tasks with subtasks by default. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I've a requirement where I have to collapse all tasks in the task list by default . Currently, I've more than 500 tasks and scrolling all the way up and down to find and update tasks are really challenging. This is a critically requirement as the task list is growing everyday and soon the team will give up in using the list.  Any quick response is appreciated.

  • Sounds like time for Microsoft Project or Excel if you must!

  • Hi Mohan,

    Did you ever find an answer to this issue? I'm trying to do the same thing.

    Thanks!

  • add a HTML Form in the web part.  Edit that webpart.  there is a tab called source editor.  click on it and remove the text that is there.  copy and paste this code:

    <script src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.js"></script>
    < script src="//code.jquery.com/ui/1.10.4/jquery-ui.js"></script>
    < script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
    (function($){
        function doCollapseTaskList() {
    $(".ms-commentcollapse-iconouter > img").each(function(){
    $(this).click();
    });
    }
    $(function() {
      SP.SOD.executeOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(function () {
    if (typeof asyncDeltaManager != "undefined")
                asyncDeltaManager.add_endRequest(doCollapseTaskList);
              else doCollapseTaskList();
       },'SP.js');
        });

        })(jQuery);
      });
    < /script>
