workflow issue -Project server 2013 RRS feed

  • When I tried to create a  Enterprise project type in project server 2013 , I am getting the below error message in the Workflow history .

    projectSequence1: Unable to initialize workflow because a SetProjectStage activity specified an invalid stage GUID.

    ProjectServerError(s) LastError=GeneralItemDoesNotExist Instructions: Pass this into PSClientError constructor to access all error information

    An error has occurred in Sample Proposal.

    Any help .. How to solve this issue ?

  • Hello, did you defined stages in PWA>server settings? A project workflow should start by an existing stage that you pick from stages list in SP designer...

  • Thanks for your reply. I didn't define any workflow stages  as of now and I amn't see default workflow stages same as Project server 2010 and lot of feature such as "Protofolio analyses,Driver Proritization, Project pages" . Do i need do enable any feature to get everthing? Please help me ...

  • Hi Balamurugan, sorry for late reply, but I have few experience so far on that.

    all what I can say is that it is crucial to define:

    - defines your company goals, for example: "this year we need to increase market shares on a segment of product"

    - then your business rules, with measurable criteria (e.g.: how much this project contributes to increase my market shares on this segment)

    - then for each possible reply: 0 to 10%, 10 to 25%, and so on...

    these rules will rank priorities for your projects portfolio. If in addition you define resources roles, it will show benefit of hiring this or this type of job. With UMT finance module, it can also show what if benefit expected for a given forecasted expenditure...

    but once again, as technical guy I did not spent so much time on this...
