BLOB: I need to add a single volume over 10TB

    Question

  • I am setting up a backup solution and need a volume larger than 1TB. What is the best way to handle this as a backup server? I should be able to get away with two 10TB volumes....

  • Max size of single blob is 1TB. So You must use chunking (if You want to use pure blob API) or run some distributed storage over IaaS.

  • As far as limits go, a single Azure Storage Account can contain up to 500tb of data with a max single file size of 1TB for blobs. A Azure File share can be 5TB in size, so yes you would have to use chunking or you could/should look into Azure Backup as another solution.

    Hope that helps!
